In his most recent project, Jack West Coast has achieved a definitive and unique sound that is characterized by a crisp perfectionist tone, yet it is also dark and in need of repeated listening. This bleak, lonely experience encapsulates the raw energy of post-rock music, while each song, though not overly protracted, allows the listener to attain a profound, almost meditative state. The underlying, dissoluteness of "Who Needs Who?", suggests an inner battle between what is right and what feels right--- as the standout track, "AI Malls", offers a hopeful resolution to a life in the shadows. It's blissfully evident that "IT'S DARK IN HERE" was is crafted with a particular appeal to risky nocturnal behavior; the more you know, the less you should.

Released in 2021, Yourism is the ambitious debut of a young artist working without a roadmap. While the palette is strictly traditional—built from the lush textures of a full orchestra—the architecture is decidedly modern. The arrangements move with a cinematic urgency, capturing the restless energy of a young mind trying to bridge the gap between classical heritage and contemporary pacing.
The album’s signature unpredictability is best heard on the lead track, "Silence in Tokyo." Created before formal constraints could take root, the piece features rapid key and octave shifts within single bars—a technical "rule-break" that results in a dark, ethereal soundscape. It’s a glimpse into a lightly treaded area of classical music where intuition outweighs tradition. Yourism stands as a raw, sophisticated time capsule of an artist attempting to fit a lifetime of influences into a single, sweeping vision.
